When is the Cover Better than the Original?

This one comes close. Magnet Magazine posed the question, which version of A-ha’s “Take On Me” is better – the original or the cover version by A.C. Newman? I must admit, it’s a tough one. Of course, the video for the original really takes A-ha’s version up a notch – it epitomizes what a music video from the 80s should be.
